A new version of Ubuntu was recently released, Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon. For those that used the previous version, they might have noticed that the desktop effects option existed but didn’t really function. In the latest release, the desktop effects are automatically enabled for PCs/laptops that could handle the composite window manager.
